Adopt One, Help Many: We're Part of The Rescue Effect
For the First Time, CCA Joins "The Rescue Effect," the ASPCA's National Adoption Campaign (Aug 1 to Oct 31)
The idea is simple. When one animal goes home, the space, the foster bed, and the resources they were using open up for the next animal who needs us. Adopt one, help many. That's the ripple, and it's something we watch happen here every week.
Meet Oshi, leading the way for us this year.
Even the best shelter is a stressful place for an animal, and a long stay only makes it harder. What sets Oshi apart is how she carries it. When the kennels get loud and chaotic, she's calm, content, and confident. No fear, no unraveling. Time and again she gets passed over simply because of the way she looks, never given the chance to show who she really is, and that's the real shame of it, because underneath is one of the steadiest, most settled dogs we know. Give her that chance, and you'll see exactly what we see.
Her adoption fee is sponsored, and she's not the only one.
Adoption fees are sponsored for Moon, Renly, Oshi, and Monk.
These are some of the animals who have waited the longest, and having their fees covered means one less barrier between them and a family.
How you can help
Adopt. Meet Oshi and everyone else waiting for a home here.
Foster. Not ready to adopt? A temporary spot in your home frees up ours just as fast, and it's often the thing that helps a shy animal blossom.
Share. If you can't do either right now, simply sharing our posts and website costs you nothing and widens the circle of people who might say yes. Every share is a chance for one of these animals to be seen by the right person.
This is the season to do it. The animal you take home, or foster, or help us find a home for, is only the beginning of what you make possible.
